Story.
We’re Georgina and Kristy, co-founders of Mocha & Mood. Established in 2024, launched in 2026, and best friends for over a decade.
First things
first.
When we founded Mocha & Mood, a few things were really important to us.
We wanted to create a brand full of meaning, where nothing was done without thought or consideration. We wanted to celebrate outdoor spaces, which are so often overlooked and underused. And we wanted to create something inclusive - to suit any space, budget, look or feel.
But before Mocha & Mood, there was Bespoke Balconies. And above all, a decade of us.
let's do a little rewind...
Where it all
started.
We met in 2016 at a Candypants brunch while we were both travelling the world as cabin crew for Emirates.
Then, in 2020, we were both made redundant.
Georgina couldn’t find furniture that fit her balcony and decided to create it herself using pallets, cushions and a little styling.
There was no master plan. No big business idea. She just loved doing it.
A friend saw the balcony and asked for one too. Then another did. Very unexpectedly, it kind of blew up.
The early days were chaos: late nights, painting furniture in the living room and cushions everywhere. Bespoke Balconies kept growing, from one balcony to a brilliant little team and hundreds of transformed outdoor spaces.
2020

Plot twist: Bespoke Balconies was almost never a solo thing.
Kristy had studied interior design at university and, when Georgina’s idea began taking shape, she said, “Let’s do this together.”
We bought all the drawing equipment; rulers, pens, pencils, even matching neon-pink shirts to paint in.
But Kristy needed a full-time income, so she entered the corporate world of interior design while Georgina continued building Bespoke Balconies.
For years, we kept having the same conversation: 'one day, we should do something together properly.'
In 2024, we stopped saying “one day” and began exploring what the next version of the business could become.
2024
Mocha & Mood was
born.
At first, we thought Mocha & Mood might take us into interiors. But the more we talked, the clearer it became that outdoor spaces were still being underused—and there was so much more we wanted to do with them.
The name needed to mean something too.
Mocha brings together coffee and chocolate. Two different things coming together perfectly—and, conveniently, one of our favourite shades.
Mood represents the people and spaces we create for: different personalities, aesthetics and ways of living.
We had the name. We had the plans. We had even started the rebrand.
Then life happened.
There were babies, big life changes and a pause that lasted a little longer than expected. But eventually, the same niggle returned.

Finally, we're
here.
So, what is Mocha & Mood?
It is the more considered, more refined evolution of everything Bespoke Balconies became. The same roots and the same love of outdoor living - just with better products, stronger design and a much bigger vision.
Bespoke Balconies isn’t disappearing. It’s becoming Mocha & Mood.
And after years of saying we would build something together, we’re finally here.
